Dear San Pablo Family,

Happy Easter!

The Resurrection of Jesus, a profound and pivotal event in our Christian faith, is a beacon of hope and inspiration. By solemnly proclaiming that Jesus has conquered death and risen, Christians celebrate in advance what should be our future resurrection to eternal life with God in the Kingdom of Heaven. Let us rejoice, then, in the good news of the resurrection and strive to do God's will in our lives, thus attaining the eternal glory of Heaven.

I also take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have donated their time and talent to help us beautify our church and liturgical celebrations during this Holy Week. Your selfless contributions have made our celebrations more beautiful and meaningful. May God reward you for your generosity and willingness to serve. Special thanks to Father Anthony Cardone, who is with us for a few weeks, helping with confessions and Masses.

Next Sunday, we will celebrate the liturgical Solemnity of Divine Mercy. On that day, we will be reminded that God's mercy and love for all his children is boundless. In addition, we will celebrate the First Communion Mass, during which some children from our parish will receive Jesus’ present in the Eucharist for the first time in their hearts. I congratulate each of them, their parents, and other family members, and I ask God to grant them the grace to fall in love with the Eucharist, just as Blessed Carlo Acutis, who will be officially declared a Saint of our Catholic Church that same day during his canonization in Rome. May the children and young people of our parish, following the example of this new saint, also grow in holiness and love for God and the Church.

Lastly, I want to express how much joy and gratitude I feel in serving you as your priest. Your help and support are my motivation, leading me to continue serving with joy and gratitude.

God bless you always,

In Christ,
Father Oscar Perez Dudamel

2025 Good Friday Collection for the Holy Land

Our Catholic faith has deep roots in the Holy Land. It is where Jesus began his ministry, sharing the Good News with all He encountered. On Holy Thursday, Jesus broke bread with His disciples, and with that, Jesus gave us the gift of the Eucharist. This was also the beginning of the priesthood. Good Friday is critical to our salvation. Jesus died for our sins, and through His resurrection on Easter Sunday, we are given the chance at eternal life with Him. The birth of Catholicism led to our faith spreading throughout the world. Our creed, “one, holy, Catholic, and Apostolic,” unites us with Catholics across the world. We should support all members of our faith, and our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land need your help.

Each year, the Holy Father asks all Catholic parishes to take up the Good Friday Collection to keep a Christian presence in the Holy Land. This collection on April 18, 2025, supports the Franciscan ministry work offered to the sacred shrines and parishes in the Holy Land. It also provides for the formation and education in communities and schools, and it supports the basic needs of our brothers and sisters during their current hardships.

In this year’s Lenten Season, we humbly ask for your prayers for the Holy Father’s Collection. Our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land are counting on your support and encouragement.

To give to the collection, please give at your local Good Friday service, or donate at Franciscan Monastery website
