Dear OLOL Families,

What a wonderful week it has been at OLOL! From special learning experiences and celebrating our 8th graders to our accreditation visit and our beautiful Heritage Celebration, there has been so much to be grateful for.

The week began with our 8th grade boys visiting Belen Prep for a very special STREAM activity. At the same time, our 8th grade girls enjoyed an etiquette class led by one of our very own alumni, Miss Thalia Acosta. It was a beautiful opportunity for our students to learn from and connect with a Jaguar who once walked our halls.,/

Then came Picture Day, bringing lots of smiles throughout the school! Our 8th graders especially enjoyed their special cap and gown pictures as they captured this important milestone in their final year as OLOL Jaguars.

On Wednesday, we were honored to welcome Mrs. Camp, Director of Accreditation for the Florida Catholic Conference; Dr. White, Associate Superintendent for Teaching and Learning for the Archdiocese; and Mrs. Perdomo, Early Education Specialist, for our third-year accreditation visit. We are grateful for their time, guidance, and continued support as we reflect on our growth and continue working toward an even stronger OLOL.

We finished the week with a beautiful Heritage Celebration! From the sweet treats and colorful procession to our talented Jaguarettes, and of course, Churromania, it was a wonderful celebration of the cultures, traditions, and families that make our Jaguar community so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration such a memorable one!

🐾 Looking Ahead

This Sunday, October 4th, we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and creation. We invite our OLOL families to join us at 4:00 PM at the Outdoor Altar for the Blessing of the Animals. Bring your beloved pets and join us for this special tradition!

As we reflect on our Heritage Celebration, let us remember:

“Our heritage is the story of where we come from, the values we carry, and the legacy we leave for those who come after us.”

Thank you, OLOL Family, for making each week at Our Lady of Lourdes a celebration of faith, learning, community, and Jaguar pride.

God is good, and our Jaguars continue to shine! 🐾
