Jesus asks us to come spend time with him. When he asked the apostles to come pray with him, it is because he wanted their presence and company. In the same way today, he invites us to come be with him. When we come into his presence, graces are given. When graces are given to us, we are less inclined to sin and more inspired to do the will of our Father. At the same time, when we are with Jesus, he will shower his blessings onto our families because his love overflows from us into our community. And, when we are with Jesus in front of the Blessed Sacrament, all the angels and saints are with us as we are in the “eternal now” and all of these visits are remembered by our Lord God.

If you are with the Lord, imagine the peace that will come since you are with the Prince of Peace. He is greater than any struggle or problem we can bring to him, so He invites us to leave the struggle with him which gives us a renewed peace. And, since he wants us to cooperate with his graces, the holy hour will often reveal answers to situations that we are pondering. He gives us peace and often gives us answers. When we receive the answers, the answers may seem difficult. However, when we spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, he gives us the strength and fortitude to do what we know we must do. In private prayer, I may know the answer and I may ask for the strength to do what must be done, but in front of the Blessed Sacrament, he can give us this strength since he is there with us. We have the ability to be resolute in our decision.

Jesús nos invita a pasar tiempo con Él. Cuando pidió a los apóstoles que vinieran a orar con Él, fue porque deseaba su presencia y compañía. De la misma manera, hoy nos invita a estar con Él. Cuando nos acercamos a su presencia, se nos conceden gracias. Cuando recibimos gracias, somos menos propensos al pecado y más inspirados para hacer la voluntad de nuestro Padre. Al mismo tiempo, cuando estamos con Jesús, él derrama sus bendiciones sobre nuestras familias porque su amor se derrama desde nosotros hacia nuestra comunidad. Y, cuando estamos con Jesús ante el Santísimo Sacramento, todos los ángeles y santos están con nosotros como si estuviéramos en el "eterno ahora", y todas estas visitas son recordadas por nuestro Señor Dios.

Si estás con el Señor, imagina la paz que vendrá al estar con el Príncipe de la Paz. Él es más grande que cualquier lucha o problema que le presentemos, por eso nos invita a dejarle la lucha, lo cual nos renueva la paz. Y, como desea que cooperemos con sus gracias, la hora santa a menudo revela respuestas a situaciones que nos preocupan. Nos da paz y, a menudo, respuestas. Cuando recibimos las respuestas, estas pueden parecer difíciles. Sin embargo, cuando pasamos tiempo con Jesús en el Santísimo Sacramento, nos da la fuerza y la fortaleza para hacer lo que sabemos que debemos hacer. En la oración privada, puedo saber la respuesta y pedir la fuerza para hacer lo que debo hacer, pero ante el Santísimo Sacramento, él puede darnos esta fuerza, ya que está allí con nosotros. ¡Es oficial! El Mural de San Jose Gregorio Hernandez es un regalo del gran artista plástico Eduardo Sanabria (EDO) para nuestra parroquia, en celebración de su próxima canonización.

Esta obra traerá gran visibilidad y orgullo a SKD, convirtiéndose en un punto de referencia y peregrinación para nuestra comunidad y para muchos devotos. El trabajo del artista es una donación generosa, y solo necesitamos recaudar $6,500 para cubrir los materiales de pintura.

Cómo colaborar:
Puedes realizar una donación por el monto que desees. Las donaciones de $250 o más recibirán como obsequio un spray original utilizado en la obra, firmado por EDO, como recuerdo exclusivo de tu participación.

Guest Speaker: Sister Clare Hunter

Presenting:
The sanctity of work

Sister Clare Hunter is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist based in Meriden, Connecticut. She currently serves her community as a member of the General Council. She currently serves as the Assistant to the Dean of Human Formation, and is on faculty at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, Florida. Previously, Sister served in the Diocese of Arlington as the director of the Respect Life Office, and has worked in Campus Ministry and taught high school.

She is a national speaker on life issues, human sexuality, marriage and family life, and numerous theological and spiritual topics. In our parish, Sister will be speaking to the Catholic Business Network about how work can be sanctified, being a means towards holiness, when properly carried out.

Sister graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in Corporate Communication and Media; the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family with a Masters in Theological Studies; and Houston’s University of St. Thomas with a Master in Education Administration. She is currently a candidate for the Doctorate of Ministry at the Catholic University of America.
