A Historic Weekend of Joy for Our Parish Family!

This weekend, Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish celebrates an extraordinary and grace-filled moment in our history as one of our very own, Rev. Mr. Cornelius Peter Deep, is ordained to the Sacred Order of the Priesthood for the Diocese of Syracuse. This is not just a special moment for Cornelius and his family it is a celebration for our entire parish community and for the Greater Utica Area. Ordinations are powerful reminders that God is still calling young men to serve His Church, and that faithful parishes truly make a difference in helping vocations grow and flourish.

Priesthood Ordination of Cornelius Deep

This is the Big Weekend — Priesthood Ordination of Cornelius Deep

Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish rejoices as we celebrate the priestly ordination of Rev. Mr. Cornelius Peter Deep one of our very own. This is a historic and grace-filled moment for our parish family and for the entire Greater Utica Area.

Cornelius will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests on: Saturday, May 30th at 10:00am at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception

All are warmly invited to attend this joyful celebration. A handicap-accessible coach bus will be traveling from the parish to the Cathedral for those who have reserved transportation. Anyone with questions may contact the parish office for additional information.

On the evening before the ordination, all are invited to a Holy Hour for Vocations offered in a special way for the intentions of Rev. Mr. Cornelius Deep as he prepares to offer his life in service to Christ and His Church.

  • This public vigil service will take place on: Holy Hour for Vocations Friday, May 29th at 5:30pm at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception
  • Following his ordination, Father Cornelius will return home to celebrate his First Holy Mass of Thanksgiving on: Sunday, May 31st at 2:30pm at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish (Our Lady of Lourdes Campus, Utica)

This First Holy Mass will be an especially beautiful and prayerful moment in the life of our parish. A newly ordained priest celebrates the Mass with a unique joy and gratitude as he offers the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the first time as a priest. Parishioners are strongly encouraged to attend and support Father Cornelius as he begins his priestly ministry among us.

Please note that this Mass is a Sunday Mass and will fulfill your Sunday obligation.

This is truly a weekend of tremendous grace for our parish community. Please continue to keep Father Cornelius in your prayers as he prepares for ordination and the beginning of his priestly ministry.

Appreciation Night

Parish Ministry Tailgate & Volunteer Appreciation Night

Saturday, June 13th
Following the 4:00 PM Vigil Mass
Lourdes Campus Grounds

One of the greatest blessings of parish life is the countless volunteers who generously give of their time, talent, faith, and love throughout the year.

Whether serving quietly behind the scenes or in visible ministries each week, our volunteers help bring the mission of our parish to life in beautiful and powerful ways.

To celebrate and thank these incredible parishioners, Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish is excited to host our first-ever Parish Ministry Tailgate & Volunteer Appreciation Night on Saturday, June 13th following the 4:00 PM Vigil Mass at the Lourdes Campus.

This special evening is intended to be a joyful parish-wide celebration of gratitude, fellowship, and community spirit. Rather than separate ministry dinners and gatherings, we are coming together as one parish family to honor and celebrate all who serve our parish throughout the year.

The evening will include:

  • food and refreshments,
  • music and fellowship,
  • ministry displays and hospitality areas,
  • opportunities to connect with fellow parishioners,
  • and a relaxed, festive atmosphere for all ages.

Many of our parish ministries will host simple “tailgate-style” areas throughout the evening, creating a fun opportunity for parishioners to learn more about the many ministries and volunteer opportunities that help strengthen our parish community.

This event is open to the entire parish, but in a special way we hope all parish volunteers and ministry members will join us as honored guests for the evening. Whether you serve in liturgy, catechesis, outreach, hospitality, youth ministry, music ministry, parish events, prayer groups, maintenance, administration, or countless other areas of parish life this evening is for you.

The parish will be providing food, beverages, music, and hospitality throughout the evening. There is no cost to attend.

Please join us as we come together in gratitude for the many hands and hearts that help make Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish such a joyful and faith-filled community.

One Parish Family • Many Ministries • Endless Reasons for Gratitude
