A Parish that Calls Forth Vocations

This week the Church across the United States celebrates National Vocations Awareness Week a time to give thanks for the gift of priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life, and to pray for those whom the Lord is calling to follow Him more closely. It’s also the perfect moment for us, as a parish family, to reflect on how we can actively foster vocations right here at Mary, Mother of Our Savior.

The Solemnity of All Saints

Saturday, November 1st at 9:00am (Lourdes Campus)

The Solemnity of All Saints is a beautiful day when the Church celebrates all the holy men and women known and unknown who now rejoice in heaven. It is a reminder of our own universal call to holiness and the communion we share with all the saints who inspire us by their example.

This year, because November 1st falls on a Saturday, the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated (lifted).

In other words, this is not a Holy Day of Obligation. However, our parish warmly invites you to join us for a special Mass at 9:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church to honor the saints and seek their intercession. Come celebrate this great feast of joy and hope as we remember that we, too, are called to become saints!

Mass of Remembrance

All Souls Day Mass of Remembrance

Monday, November 3, 2025 at 6:30pm (Lourdes Campus).

Every year on or near the Feast of All Souls, the Church pauses to remember those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith. It is one of the most moving and beautiful traditions in the Catholic Church the Mass for the Dead when we commend our loved ones to the mercy of God and pray that they may rest in the light of His presence.

Our parish will celebrate a Solemn Mass of Remembrance on Monday, November 3rd at 6:30pm at our Lourdes Campus.

Although the deadline to submit names for this year’s remembrance has passed, all parishioners are warmly invited and encouraged to attend. This is a sacred opportunity for our entire parish family to gather in prayerful solidarity with those who are mourning and to intercede for all souls who are still being purified by God’s love. The Church has always regarded prayer for the dead as one of the spiritual works of mercy.

In doing so, we practice both faith and charity faith in the power of Christ’s Resurrection and charity toward those who can no longer pray for themselves. Our prayers, offered at the altar, unite heaven and earth as we entrust our loved ones to the mercy that flows from Christ’s sacrifice.

The beauty of the Mass for the Dead is not found in sadness but in hope. Draped in the solemn tones of prayer and lighted candles, we are reminded that death is not the end but the doorway to eternal life. The Communion of Saints those in heaven, those being purified, and those of us still on our pilgrim journey is made visible in this sacred liturgy.

Please join us for this holy evening of remembrance and prayer. Come to lift up the souls of the faithful departed and to renew your own hope in the promise of resurrection. As we pray together, may we find peace in knowing that love is stronger than death, and that in Christ, we remain forever united with those we love.

National Vocation Awareness Week

National Vocation Awareness Week, celebrated November 2-8, 2025, is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education.

It is also a time to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.

There will be a special collection the weekend of November 1st and 2nd to support the education of our seminarians preparing for priesthood in our diocese.
