Today we are beginning the best week in the whole liturgical year. Centuries ago it was called the ‘Great Week ‘. Nowadays we Catholics call it ‘Holy Week ‘. During this week, we follow Jesus every step of the way. We start with his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where he is welcomed, applauded and acclaimed, by a big crowd of followers. On Thursday we will join him at His table and receive the gift of himself in bread and wine. After dining with him we will walk with him along the path that leads from the Upper Room to the Garden of Olives. There we will see him falling to the ground in fear and anxiety about the cruel death that awaits him. Friday will find us standing beside his mother at the foot of the cross and feeling compassion for him in both his physical agony and his mental torment. Read More |

Liturgical Catechesis: The Parts of the Mass | Issue 7 / 40
One of the introductory rites, the rite of blessing and sprinkling of holy water, may be used in place of the penitential rite at any Sunday eucharistic celebration.
It is meant to be a reminder of our baptism. Because Lent is a season of preparing for baptism, this rite is not very appropriate for use during Lent.
Because Easter is the season of baptism and the other sacraments of initiation, the rite of blessing and sprinkling holy water is most appropriate for use then.

We also want to call your attention to the fact that Georgia-Tennessee area is hosting a Virtual Experience, which does afford couples more flexibility in that they won’t be in a hotel or retreat center. Rather, they will be in the comfort of their own home. Since it is virtual, and in the same time zone as our Florida-Southeast area, couples are welcome to sign up for it, as well.
The mission of Worldwide Marriage Encounter is to proclaim the value of Marriage and Holy Orders in the Church and in the world.
The experience allows the couples to create a dialogue with each other and with God, to create a higher and broader understanding of what it means to be married.
