Regulation for Fasting

Regulation for fasting and Abstinence Fasting is to be observed by all 18 years of age and older, who have not yet celebrated their 59th birthday. On a fast day one full meal is allowed.

Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and juices are allowed.

Abstinence is observed by all 14 years of age and older. On days of abstinence no meat is allowed. Note that when health or ability work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. When in doubt concerning fast and abstinence, the parish priest should be consulted.

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence.

All the Friday’s of Lent are day of abstinence. Fasting, almsgiving, and prayer are the three traditional disciplines of Lent. The faithful and catechumens should undertake these practices seriously in a spirit of penance and of preparation for Baptism or of renewal of Baptism at Easter.

Thank You!!

To prepare for the celebration of Holy Week and Easter Sunday has not been an easy task. The efforts of many was required to rehearse, decorate and organize all the important events of this week. To all the dedicated and committed volunteers and parishioners that made this possible, we offer our sincere “thank you” for a job well done.

On this Easter Day, Fr. Julio, the Priests, Deacons and the Staff of Immaculate Conception Church and School wish you a full union with the Lord that comes from faith, love, prayer and the humble use of His Sacraments. May Christ be with you during this Easter Season and throughout your lives that you may have His life within you and have it more abundantly.

HAPPY EASTER!!

Mil gracias!
