Dear Jaguar Families,
We hope you are having a wonderful week! This week at Our Lady of Lourdes was filled with excitement, learning, and celebration.
We began the week by honoring Red Ribbon Week, embracing this year’s national theme: “Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free.” Students participated in a variety of engaging presentations tailored to their grade levels. From interacting with therapy dogs, learning about internet safety, to the important lessons of D.A.R.E. on drug prevention and awareness, our students had the opportunity to explore healthy choices in meaningful ways. Each grade level also took part in a creative bulletin board competition, celebrating the theme visually. Congratulations to Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 7th grade for their winning boards!
On Tuesday, we hosted an amazing Open House for prospective families. Over 130 families visited Jaguar Nation, and we were thrilled by surprise visits from our Cheer Squad and Jiggy the Jaguar! We were especially touched to welcome four alumni who are now parents, hoping their children will experience the same joy of becoming Jaguars as they once did. It was truly an emotional and heartwarming event.
On Wednesday, we gathered as a school community to celebrate Mass, where our second graders processed as saints in honor of All Saints’ Day. During Mass, we also held our Honor Roll presentation, recognizing the hard work and dedication of our students. It was inspiring to see our students celebrating their academic achievements.
The week concluded with a 'spooktacular' Trunk or Treat, which was a spectacular event thanks to our wonderful parents who went above and beyond to create fun and creative trunks. Students enjoyed the special treats and the excitement of walking through a festive, safe, and imaginative environment. It was a joyful reminder of the incredible partnership between our families and school community.
As we reflect on this week’s events, we are reminded of the importance of community and family. “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller. Thank you for continuing to make Our Lady of Lourdes a place where students can grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically.
Reminder: Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 2nd. Don’t forget to fall back and set your clocks one hour earlier.
God is good... All the time.
